Gaffer Glass Frit

For the uninitiated, Gaffer Glass Frit is a glass garnish. It is  made from richly saturated Gaffer Glass.
The glass is broken into various sized particles; ranging from powder to fairly coarse sized granules.Lampworkers and others tend to use these garnishes to augment their designs and expand their creative pallette.

As Gaffer Glass has a COE of approximately 96, it should only be used sparingly with Soda Lime Glass; having a COE of 104. Most lampworkers tend to use a ratio of no more than 5%, to ensure there are minimal incompatibility issues. Mostly this is a guesstimate, of course.

These frits will be made available in 30  and 100 gram bags. Perhaps later, I'll concoct some mixes of my own to play with.
I'll continue to list these frits as they become available, so stay tuned!

NB: As usual, adequate personal respiratory protection is essential when using glass powders and frits. Avoid contact with skin and eyes too. Remember to wash hands thoroughly after handling glass and before handling food.
